Whenever there is a technology issue with the school computers or students just need some papers printed for a class, there is always a friendly face to help, and that is Leighton Williams.
Williams has been working at the school since 2021 and had originally started out in the library hall. She was not hired to work in the technology office, but she had taken some initiative to help the technology department before being moved to it the following year. Pat Myers said, “Leighton is always willing to help and learn new things.”
As for her job, Williams enjoys it, and it is her first time working with technology. “The best part about my job is all the people I get to work with: students, teachers, and Mr. Myers and Mr. Denk,” Williams said. The teachers and students who come into the tech office help create the positive environment that enjoys.
To describe herself, Williams is a passionate person who enjoys giving her all. “I care deeply about many things and put a lot of hard work and dedication into them,” Williams said. As for others, they see her as unique with a cheery attitude and interesting perspective on things that she brings to work with her.
Williams is an OHS graduate. While a student, she participated in theater and other activities. “She was a standout student here at OTHS and is now a standout member of the faculty,” English teacher Steve Johnson said. Growing up, some of her childhood heroes were JK Rowling, the author Harry Pottery and Author Richelle Mead, the author of Vampire Academy.
Besides working on technology, Williams dreams of becoming an author one day. She has been chasing this goal since she learned to write but also would like to go into other fields such as voice acting, acting, screenwriting and directing.
Williams is a jack of many trades and will continue learning new skills throughout her years here. All the students appreciate her kind assistance.
