The Wayouts are a four-man band who do covers of 1960s rock and have been a recent sensation on the Chicago festival scene.
The Wayouts members have had an extensive background from having original indie influenced songs to covering some of the most well-known bands. The Wayouts don’t use computers, synthesizers or gimmicks. They like to play a very raw performance. In 2017 things changed for the band and they became popular quickly among fans. Soon after their recognition, they started playing venues and festivals throughout the Chicago area.
When the band came out, they were dressed in business casual attire paired with black Converse for an added quirk. Throughout the band’s performance, they received applause and cheers from the audience. The band had shown an upbeat stage presence with frequent jumping up and down and playful banter between the lead singer and guitarist. The audience appeared to be excited and energetic when the band played “Time of the Season” by The Zombies. The Audience was clapping to the beat for almost every song. The band seemed to be having a joyride on stage. From what I saw, the crowd seemed to be having a fun time and appeared to enjoy the music played.
A sophomore anonymously said, “I thought they were good, and they weren’t bad at all, but I thought it was kind of hard to hear them at times.”
