“Cars,” made by Pixar, is a movie about the journey of a star racecar named Lightning McQueen. He must go to California to compete in a final race to win the Piston Cup but gets arrested in Radiator Springs. The journey this movie takes viewers through is fantastic. It’s got a good plot, humor for all and fantastic character development.
First, the plot is very structured without any big skips. It allows the viewers to be able to break down the movie and understand how the characters developed. Also, the plot is just a great story with well–written themes that can be found anywhere. Finally, it offers a good story of how the characters get to know each other and become friends.
Next, the humor found in the movie is funny for all ages. It has kids’ humor with your basic jokes and characters like Mater, Like in the scene where Mater take Lightning to the fields and they tip the “cows.” While Mater is big on the kids’ humor angle, he also sneaks in more adult jokes throughout the movie. Same with the storyline of McQueen and Sally, developing more of an adult relationship. Allowing more mature audiences to have parts for them to understand and enjoy.
Also, character development is on point. It helps the themes appear and allows for the storyline to continue advancing. Lightning starts the movie as some cocky hotshot who could never be caught with small town people doing labor.
Then through the movie he grows to learn how to accept everyone and be kind. We also learn a lot about Mater in how he is not just this rusted beat down truck, but someone to have fun being around and enjoying company with. A comparable movie series is “Toy Story”; it has all a very similar overall message and character development while keeping the story strong.
Overall, I would totally recommend watching this movie if you haven’t. It is good at every aspect of the movie and is great in certain aspects. This can be a movie for all ages, found good by all and delivers a great theme.
It can currently be viewed on Disney Plus, Amazon Prime, Fandango and Apple Tv. It’s box office was a huge success with making sixty million dollars on opening weekend and making around six hundred million dollars throughout its run. Some voice actors include Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt, Paul Newman and more.
