The Fine Arts Club kicked off Fine Arts Festival with some glitz, glam and the occasional nip-slip. Many of the skits poked fun at student life, teachers, game shows and pop culture.
Many skits were crammed into the 46-minute time limit, but the club presented most notably an introduction of all club members, an “Alice in Wonderland” parody, a “Dancing with the Stars” skit featuring teachers and a message of gratitude for the seniors’ favorite teachers. The act concluded with a quick dance number performed by a blow-up Eric Cartman.
The skits were well rehearsed and entertaining. There was a good balance between elaborate acts and silly, quick skits. The whole show was fun and not too serious, which was perfect for 8 am when no one was entirely awake. A quick poll showed that the teacher version of “Dancing with the Stars” was the most liked skit with many high accolades towards senior Enrika Harris’ role. Sophomore Sienna Justice said, “I liked how they made a lot of references to current memes and there wasn’t really anything I disliked. Even the short acts in between were funny.” Each year there are high expectations for Fine Arts Presents, and they most certainly delivered this year.
