“The Notebook” is a movie about love, loss, and decisions. It starts with an older man reading to his wife in the hospital who has dementia. I love how it all ties the whole thing together and how it starts and ends with this.
I like this movie for its unique writing style and how it’s not the same as all the other romance movies. Ryan Gosling (Noah) and Rachel McAdams (Alli) play teenage lovers who spend the summer together until plans are ruined by Allie’s dad. The acting in this movie is very good and brings the audience in.
“The Notebook” was released in 2004, and since then has won people’s choice in 2004, award for best romance movie in 2005, best kiss award in 2004, and was nominated for best screenplay along with many more. Sophomore Kami Castro said, “I love the movie because it is a great representation of love and yearning.”
The movie has amazing backgrounds with beautiful creeks and houses. “The Notebook” is a movie that can be watched over and over and not get boring. It can put me through so many emotions, and I think that’s why I like it so much. Senior Bethany Polega said “I love ‘The Notebook’ because it really gets me in my feels. I literally cry every time I watch it.”
The movie is categorized as a drama and a romance. “The Notebook” comes off as very realistic and has great acting. Nick Cassavetes directed the movie; he has been an actor, writer, and director who has won many awards.
