With a pleasant atmosphere and delightful food, GDL is the place to be when you’re in the mood for some Mexican.
GDL is located at 903 East Norris Drive and is open from 11 am to 9 pm every Monday through Friday. When you first walk into the restaurant, you are greeted by the incredibly friendly staff who offer a seat. Once seated, a server will ask what you want for drinks and bring them quickly. Along with those drinks, they bring some amazing chips and salsa, which are unlimited. Also, the service is very nice and polite. Our server was patient and cracked a few jokes with us. And after we ordered our food, it was very quickly served.
The menu provides a variety of items with tasty appetizers like choriqueso. It is made with chorizo a type of Mexican sausage typically seasoned with chile peppers mixed with a cheese sauce. Or for your actual meal, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, chimichangas, nachos and salads. There were a few select items that were absolutely delicious.
The fajitas come out sizzling on a platter, which included steak, bell peppers, rice, beans and cheese, lettuce, and pico de gallo. It was “very juicy, perfectly cooked, and presented beautifully,” sophomore Angel Munoz said. It came with only three tortillas, which wasn’t quite enough.
Sophomore Jaxon Rissman said about the chipotle burrito, “Never have I ever tasted such a dish bursting with flavor.” The burrito vallarta left all the reviewers saying, “I would come here every day if I could.”
We also ordered bacon chimichangas, which came with rice and beans, topped with white sauce and a sour cream salad. The taste is exceptional, providing mouth-watering beefiness.
Overall, it was a delightful experience because of the amazing food and flavors mixed with kind and welcoming service to all customers.
