On the corner of West Madison and Clinton resides a new restaurant. It may appear as a bar at first, but the food is of the utmost quality. The atmosphere was a pleasant experience, though the service wasn’t the best, but good things come to those who wait.
For a restaurant it has a unique vibe, with cool yet colorful lights that change colors constantly. The photos on the wall are black and white, adding to that calm, cool vibe. They also have LED lights to add color and light behind the photos.
The service may be slow, but it allows you to get the full experience provided to truly enjoy it. The servers greet you right away, provide you with drinks, and take your orders. It is the food that takes some time to be made. To make up for the wait, the servers will continue to refill your drinks and make sure everything is going well.
The overall cleanliness of the restaurant is pristine. When you walk in, it looks clean, neither the tables nor floors are dirty or sticky. The bathrooms provide a sleek look with modern faucets and nice mood lighting.
Most importantly, the food is tasty. There are many unusual types of combos, but the food complements each other fantastically. The chicken strips had a slightly spicy taste but plenty of crunchiness to the skin. The grilled cheese is honestly the same as a homemade one, it has a crispy crust but could have been cooked more.
Overall, Misfits excels. The entree, which is chili, has a good beefy taste with just the right amount of beans and sauce to accompany it. The sandwiches and burgers were fantastic. The barbeque was on point; it was sweet with a touch of tang. The meat was well cooked; it maintains the juice while having the right texture as you eat. In addition, when chicken was used, it was a great mix of juice and texture like the burger, while adding a bit of a kick.
In conclusion, Misfits does indeed fit. Thought they have their cons, the pros cancel them out, allowing for a great experience while also supporting a locally owned business.
