The Golf team made history last year by winning state. Now coming near the end of the season, can they go back-to-back? Last year’s six consisted of freshman James Threadgill, sophomore Bryer Harris, juniors Jacob Armstrong and Colt Bryson, and seniors Chandler Creedan and Seth Cooper.
This year after losing two seniors, the team added juniors Logan Cottonham and Rylee Houge. Regarding their current outlook on the future, the teammates all felt similar. Harris said, “We lost two valuable seniors, but the four that stayed improved, so I feel optimistic about it.” Harris has hope in the team’s ability to repeat and improve while getting there.
They also talked about personal places to grow and where they feel they’re strong. Bryson talked about his ability to make putts, but how he has been struggling to put his wedges close.
They also talked about the weaknesses from losing the two seniors last year. Threadgill thinks that the 4,5, and 6, man are not as strong as they could be, but they can get hot and throw out a good score. He also mentioned how Armstrong has improved over the year and his scores are getting lower, which is a huge benefit for the team. The team can win state again. It is all about how they play when they are there.
