Hard work payed off. Cooper plays her hardest at the LaSalle-Peru Tournament and wins second place. After playing since kindergarten, she has poured blood sweat and tears into her practices. “When I was wearing that medal, I was beaming ear to ear Because I was so happy,” Cooper said. The varsity girls smile big at the camera before it’s time to race.

Look out, the girls cross-country team is coming through. The varsity girls smile at the camera before starting their race.

They finished in 1st place and the boys finished in 2nd place on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Baker Lake. Freshman Georgia Kirkpatrick came in 2nd, junior Shaylen Miller 4th, senior Addy Miller 5th, sophomore Ailey Harstad 8th, junior Makenzie Blazys 10th, senior Sam Ruiz 11th and senior Hailey Larsen 12th. 

In all there were 7 schools at the meet. Kirkpatrick said, “It was hard but I’m glad I got second place.”

Nydrea Patterson
Nydrea Patterson is a senior who has been a part of the soccer team since freshman year. On top of playing soccer, Nydrea has played tennis, run for cross country and has been the girls wrestling manager. In her free time Nydrea likes to paint, read crochet, run and sing. Nydrea also enjoys going to after-school activities like soccer games, football games and school plays. Nydre has love writing since she was in 5th grade. After high school, Nydrea plans on going to IVCC or JJC for 2 years and then transferring to a historically black college to possibly become a preschool teacher or have some type of job that children.
