Our hard-working preschoolers deserve a break. Student teachers are throwing the preschoolers a Christmas party. There will be zero learning and all fun.
The preschool teachers decorated the class with green and red streamers and a Christmas tree with lights and ornaments. There is a gingerbread backdrop with lots of colors for the preschoolers to admire. The teachers also put up lights around the board and stickers of little snowman, gifts and snowflakes on windows in the class.
One of the activities that the teachers have planned is using a parachute and putting cotton balls on top so that when they throw the parachute in the air, the cotton balls fall back down like snow. Another activity the preschoolers will be playing is snow shoveling. They will be blindfolded and have to use a spoon to pick up as many cotton balls and put them in the cup as fast as possible. The preschoolers will also be decorating snowmen, holiday sweaters and cookies. Towards the end of 5th hour, they will go around the school to different classrooms singing “Jingle Bells.”
“I’m excited to see the kids get to do the fun things we have planned for them. It is always worth planning when we see their smiling faces,” senior Grace Taylor said.
Upon leaving, the preschoolers get a goodie bag and the parents get decorated mason jars that the teachers made for them and gift cards. “I think it is going to be a nice break from teaching that the students and the teachers deserve,” senior Isabella Petty said.
After their party on December 13, the preschoolers do not come back from their break until January 8. Although it will be nice to have a break from planning and teaching, they will be missed.
