People’s favorite holiday is here. The market is being set up and store windows are decorated. Christmas time has hit Ottawa.
People from all around have started making their way to downtown for the next few weeks. This is Ottawa’s third year hosting the Chris Kringle Market. Every year there have been more and more people visiting Ottawa. A Chris Kringle favorite is the Belgin hot chocolate. “I honestly worked the hut for the free drinks when there were no customers,” Ottawa graduate Kenna Cooper said. Along with the many food trucks. My personal favorite is the Didoughs truck.
The Chris Kringle Market also has holiday gifts. Strolling through the huts you will see a collection of sweaters, ornaments, fresh greens and new novels. “I like that there are a lot of things there and they are mostly homemade, so it isn’t something people normally see,” science teacher Mackenzie Marini said. The market is open four weekends leading up to Christmas. There are different vendors every week. Since there is always something new, people can attend every weekend.
Ottawa has a lot more to offer too. B & B Christmas Trees is open for families to pick a real tree to decorate at home. Also, check out the Carriage Rides in Heritage Harbor.
