From “Red, White, and Royal Blue” to “All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,” the romance selections in the library are vast, offering something for everyone. Librarian Kelley Getzelman knows the best choices for every genre. In light of Valentine’s Day, she gives her suggestions. “Other horror/gothic books I love are ‘Anna Dressed in Blood’ by Kendare Blake, ‘Shiver’ by Maggie Stiefvater, ‘White Smoke’ by Tiffany D. Jackson, and ‘Belladonna’ by Adalyn Grace.” Getzelman also revealed that “Anatomy,” a romance book with a gothic twist, is her current favorite.
Although books are the librarian’s specialty, other teachers have their preferences as well. “A more contemporary romance piece that I enjoyed reading was ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ by John Green,” Mark Cartwright, English teacher said. Cartwright also recommends “A Farewell to Arms,” by Earnest Hemmingway to romance enjoyers.
