The “CAD I Design Project: From Screen to Scene” asked students to be creative and design a personalized item. The students used AutoCAD to draw a digital image that would be engraved onto either wood or acrylic. “This hands-on project combined CAD design skills with practical applications, bringing students’ creations to life. It was a fun and creative way to apply the concepts we learned this semester, offering a refreshing break from the usual focus on machine parts and showcasing the students’ diverse interests,” CAD teacher Janelle Nordtvedt said. If you are interested in doing hands-on activities, consider doing CAD. Next semester there will be a whole new section available.
